Workforce Training

The Workforce Training component provides comprehensive workforce development solutions for business. The synergy created by the Alliance of matching qualified candidates with employer needs is creating some innovative approaches to identify and meet specific training needs. Services available to employers include:

ON-THE-JOB (OJT) REIMBURSEMENT

Employers can receive a reimbursement of up to 50% of a trainee’s wages when they agree to hire and train an eligible worker.

EMPLOYMENT TRAINING PANEL (ETP)

Do you want your employees to learn new skills?  Employers choosing to participate in ETP can utilize the cash reimbursements provided by the program to offset the cost of developing and implementing customized training programs for their current or new employees.

RAPID RESPONSE/LAYOFF ASSISTANCE

The Rapid Response Team provides information and resources on available programs to the dislocated worker, as well as with job search and training opportunities. The Rapid Response Team can arrange on-site presentations for those affected by plant/business closure or significant layoffs. Rapid Response assistance can help dislocated employee’s fast track along the road to reemployment.

JOB LISTINGS

A primary function of the Business Services Unit is to match job seekers with prospective businesses. A number of services exist to fulfill that objective:
  • An employer may telephone, fax or e-mail their job opening(s) to the Business Service Unit at the Alliance.
  • Our recruiting sources allow employers to advertise locally, statewide or nationwide, at no cost.
  • An employer may specify the number of applicants they wish to interview and the method they prefer candidates use to apply.
  • Business Services Consultants may be able to advise employers on special programs that offer tax incentives or other subsidies for their particular opening.
  • Business Services Consultants can usually dispense and collect company application forms and/or resumes for an employer.
  • Business Services Consultants can provide employers space to conduct job interviews.
  • If necessary, the Business Services Consultants will help pre-screen applicants and even set up interview times for these candidates.
